What is Homeopathy
Homeopathy is a system of medicine that uses uniquely prepared medicines, combining the energy of nature and the rigor of science, to stimulate the healing response and strengthen the body’s ability to heal itself. It is a holistic medicine addressing mind, body and spirit as a whole unified system.
The physician’s highest calling, his only calling, is to make sick people healthy — to heal, as it is termed.
~ Samuel Hahnemann, MD. Founder of Homeopathy
More About Homeopathy
Founded in 1796 by Dr. Samuel Hahnemann, a German physician and teacher, homeopathy has its philosophical roots in ancient Greek philosophy. The foundation of homeopathy is the Law of Similars, a principle described by the Greek physician Hippocrates, generally regarded as the father of modern medicine. He taught that there were two primary approaches to healing:
-
The Law of Similars — treating illness with substances that can produce similar symptoms in a healthy person (the basis of homeopathic medicine).
-
The Law of Opposites — treating illness with substances that oppose or suppress symptoms (the basis of conventional medicine).
The Law of Similars states that a substance that can provoke a specific set of symptoms in a healthy person can also cure that set of symptom in a sick person. Using the Law of Similars, Dr. Hahnemann formalized homeopathy as a system of medicine by demonstrating this principle using dilute, specially formulated homeopathic medicines in carefully documented observations and patient trials. Today, homeopathy is a fast growing system of medicine used by millions of people worldwide and has been incorporated into the government sponsored health systems in more than 40 countries.

What are Naturopathic Doctors
Licensed naturopathic doctors (NDs or NMDs) are primary care providers with doctoral degrees that can diagnose, prevent and treat acute and chronic illness. They are trained to work with the body’s natural ability to heal to restore and establish optimal health. ND’s complete four years of doctorate-level, accredited naturopathic medical school training, studying the same foundational sciences as medical doctors, along with extensive training in natural and preventive therapies including (but not limited to) nutrition, botanical medicine, and homeopathy. After graduation they pass rigorous board exams and are licensed in many U.S. states.
Rather than simply managing or suppressing symptoms, ND’s focus on identifying the root causes of illness and creating personalized treatment plans that emphasize gentle, least-toxic therapies, lifestyle support, and prevention — guided by a philosophy that supports long-term balance, resilience, and whole-person wellness.

Acute vs. Chronic Disease
Homeopathic medicine offers gentle, effective support for a wide range of both acute and chronic conditions.
Acute conditions are those that appear suddenly or develop recently — over days, weeks, or even a few months. These may include injuries, rashes, infections, or emotional stress. With the right homeopathic remedy, acute concerns often respond quickly, with improvement sometimes felt within hours to days.
Chronic conditions are longer-standing concerns that have been present for months or even years, whether constant or intermittent. These may involve ongoing physical symptoms, old injuries, or emotional or mental patterns. Because chronic conditions are more complex, care is individualized and unfolds over time, supporting deeper, long-term healing.

Sustainability
Homeopathy is one of the world’s most environmentally friendly forms of medicine. Its medicines are made using extremely small amounts of original raw materials from which many individual medicines can be made. This prevents over- consumption and exhaustion of natural resources. The production process creates no toxic waste, avoiding contamination of the precious soil, air and water that nourish us.

Medicines
Homeopathic medicines are safe, non-toxic and gentle — appropriate for all stages of life, from infancy through the wisdom years. They are typically sourced from nature (including plants, animals, minerals fungi, etc.) and are manufactured in FDA regulated pharmacies in the United States (as well as other pharmacies worldwide). Using a specialized process of dilution and succession, these medicines are prepared and designed to gently stimulate the body’s innate healing response. Learn more at hahnemannlabs.com.

Research
A growing number of researchers around the world are studying homeopathic medicines in humans, animals, and even plants. Thousands of studies show effectiveness across all three groups, dispelling the notion that homeopathy is based on the placebo effect. Research in humans shows benefits for conditions such as depression and anxiety, upper respiratory and ear infections, sleep difficulties, menopausal symptoms, headaches, back pain, and more. Some studies also indicate a reduced need for antibiotics and report fewer side effects compared with conventional treatments.
