Classical Homeopathy

I entered the healthcare profession by earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. As an RN I worked in many different areas of conventional medicine, but discovered my first passion working in a birth center in Santa Cruz, California devoted to supporting natural childbirth. Attending over a thousand births – many of them unmedicated – I became deeply inspired by the extraordinary life force that exists in humans to create life, bring it forth into the world, heal the mother after childbirth and guide the growth, development and well-being of that newborn child.

 

Working with both medical doctors and midwives, I came to appreciate the distinct strengths that each brought to birth – the skills medical doctors had in complicated births and emergency situations, and also the deep wisdom of the midwives in supporting the natural, innate process of birthing. From the midwives I was introduced to herbal medicine, homeopathy and the importance of the spiritual aspect of healing in birthing and in illness.

 

After a brief plan to get training as a midwife, a friend and colleague told me about National University of Natural Medicine (formerly National College of Naturopathic Medicine) in Portland. I visited the school and quickly realized I had found my next career path. I enrolled and earned a Doctorate degree in Naturopathic Medicine and completed a fifteen-month post-graduate clinical residency. During that training I discovered a passion for Classical Homeopathy which, after studying many forms of medicine I consider one of the highest forms of medicine capable of stimulating innate healing in an individual. I completed a Certificate of Homeopathic Medicine and a preceptorship with Dr. Stephen Messer, ND, an expert homeopath and educator in homeopathic medicine.

 

From my training onward, I bring 25 years of practicing classical homeopathy, naturopathic medicine and the wisdom learned as a mother. I look forward to treating you as an individual – with a unique story – through a holistic and compassionate approach aimed at restoring your health and well-being.
